On Saturday, I kicked off the autumn season with round 1 of the Sussex Cross country League at Goodwood racecourse.
Two laps over just under 5k with a 1k lap followed by a 4k lap, was how the race was set. The course was overall pretty undulating but had a good mix of grass and rockier paths.
Setting into a comfortable rhythm, from the beginning, I stayed just behind the leaders and then attacked after about 3 or 4 minutes, dropping the field, and one runner trying to stay with me but then losing touch and dropping back.
I managed to hold the lead for the way round and win round 1 with over a 30s gap.
A short blog post as not too much to write about, but still ran a strong, well-timed race on Saturday.
Thanks for reading 😉
