Representing Brighton and Hove AC I raced at Aldershot Road Relays, last Saturday. There were 60 teams of 3 runners each and I was the last leg. The route was an undulating one lap course of 3km. My teams first runner put us right at the front in 4th place, not far behind the leader and by my leg we in 1st by a couple seconds. I was with the 2nd place runner for the first bit then attempted to get a gap on the downhill and after a kilometre had a gap at the front. I wanted to make sure the lead was safe so attacked hard on the uphill and tried to stay ahead. The gap widened a bit and I came across the line in 1st with a 13 second gap. I also had the fastest leg of the day in 9:29 so was really happy with my performance, loved the racing, enjoyed the course and the amazing effort by my team.
